Wow! Kangaroo Island.

What an amazing part of the world.

I’ve been planning to visit Kangaroo Island for a few years, and it didn’t disappoint. White beaches, turquoise water, rocky coasts and the Australian bush are just a few attractions on this surprisingly large (150Kms in length) island. We ended up spending 4 full days here (3 nights) and that was enough to get a good feel for the island, but we probably could’ve spent another 2 – 3 days to spend more time at each of the main landmarks.

Our highlights included Emu Bay and the Remarkable Rocks, but the picturesque landscapes are plentiful so there is something for everyone, including little Sahara where our kids tobogganed down the sand dunes and the Kangaroo Island Brewery for the parents 😉

12 months prior to our visit, Kangaroo Island was devastated by bushfires, a year later the regeneration process was in full swing. Charged trees with fresh green offshoots where a welcome site, and proof that mother nature has a plan. I feel that over the coming years, as the regeneration continues, the landscape will keep changing. I would love to go back again in a few years time to see the effects of these changes.

Have a great month, see you in March 🙂
